Recipe - Chocolate Covered/Dipped Strawberries

Chocolate Covered/Dipped Strawberries



Who does not like chocolates? And if it is a chocolate dipped strawberry – it’s hard to resist! Everybody loves chocolate dipped strawberries and are not that tough to prepare at home. Just a few points to keep in mind to make this amazing dessert.

Once you make them at home you would want to make them again and again. If it’s a party or even a small get together at your home; you can win hearts and smiles by preparing this delicious dessert.

Surprise your partner at Valentine’s Day or to celebrate a special day at your home.




Ingredients


  • 8-10 Strawberries
  • Microwave safe glass bowl
  • Chopped Roasted Nuts (Almonds, Cashews, Pecans)
  • 2 Oz (56gm) Semi-Sweet Chocolate
  • Rainbow Sprinkles
  • Tooth Picks
  • Paper Liners
  • Chopping Tray
  • A Serrated Knife
  • Parchment Paper

Method


  • Wash the strawberries and allow them to dry completely
  • Now take the chocolate and chop coarsely using a serrated knife and chopping tray
  • Take 75 percent of the chocolate and transfer to the microwave safe bowl, now microwave at 50% power taking 30 seconds intervals and keep stirring the chocolate until it is melted, be careful not to burn the chocolate
  • Mix the rest of the chocolate to the melted chocolate and stir until melted entirely
  • Insert a toothpick into the stem part of the strawberry and dip into the melted chocolate, allow excess chocolate to drip off

  • Roll into the chopped nuts, sprinkles or any other topping and place on to the parchment paper over a plate or tray and let the chocolate set
  • Transfer these to refrigerator for 15-30 minutes until chocolate is firm
  • Discard the tooth picks and place the strawberries into paper liners, serve at room temperature!
 
Chocolate dipped strawberries are ready to be enjoyed, there are many more other techniques and designs to decorate the strawberries that I will share in my future posts.




Note:

  • Wash and dry fresh strawberries few hours ago, make sure there is no water on the strawberries.
  • Do not remove the leaves from the strawberries.
  • I have used chocolate bar but you can also use chocolate chips or candy melts
  • White chocolate, dark chocolate or any other chocolate can be used according to your taste.
  • A double boiler can also be used to melt chocolate
  • You can also use Styrofoam board to stick the toothpick of dipped strawberries.
  • Strawberries can be stored in refrigerator for up to 3 days, but best served on the day of preparation.
