Baked Paneer(cottage cheese) Samosa
So you bought some spring roll sheets and thinking what else can you make from these sheets, which is low oil and less caloric. Here is a recipe as a solution which is ready in minutes is guilt free and tasty too. Samosa is just everybody's favorite snack, so this baked paneer samosa is a good recipe for paneer lovers with a variation from regular recipe. I am describing step by step recipe with pictures here. Hope you like it.
Ingredients
- 2 cups boiled and roughly mashed potatoes
- 1 cup paneer (cottage cheese) cubed
- 2 tbsp. green peas
- 1/4 tsp cumin seeds
- 1/2 tsp fennel seeds
- 1/2 tsp mustard seeds
- 2 green chili, finely chopped
- 1/4 tsp turmeric
- ½ tsp Red chili powder
- 1 tsp coriander powder
- Fresh coriander leaves to garnish
- Salt to taste
- 2 tbsp. oil
- Spring roll sheets
Method
- Take paneer cubes and lightly fry them in hot oil till light brown in color and crispy
- Heat oil in a frying pan and add the mustard seed, cumin seeds, fennel seeds and let them fry
- Add green green chili, green peas and let them fry for 2 minutes
- Now add all the spices and sauté for a few more minutes then add the mashed potatoes and sauté for a couple of minutes
- Add cubed and fried paneer to the potatoes and mix well, let cook for another 3-4 mins
- Garnish with coriander leaves, turn off the heat and allow the potato mixture to cool down
- To make samosa, take one of the spring roll sheet and cut in half to make two tringle pieces as shown in picture
- Now take one of the piece and fold the edges to the middle so that you will have a tricone
- Take that tricone in hand and fill the potato-paneer filling in the center and seal the edges, take 1-2 tablespoon of all-purpose flour add 1 teaspoon water and make a paste it apply to the edges it will work as glue
- Now repeat the process to make more samosas, apply little oil to the outer surface with the help of a brush
- Preheat the oven at 375 F, Put all the samosa in a tray which has aluminum foil on it
- Bake in the preheated oven for 10-15 minutes till light brown and crispy
- Your baked paneer samosa are ready to eat!
