Chili Chana (chickpeas)

Chili Chana is a nice and spicy fusion snack dish and very tasty starter recipe made with chick peas. The chick peas are very popular in India and very rich source of protein. These can be cooked and eaten cold in salads. Today I am sharing this easy snack recipe which can be made in minutes and tastes delicious too.

  • Boiled chhole chana (chickpeas) -1 cup
  • Corn flour- 1 tbsp.
  • Chopped garlic- 1 tsp
  • Chopped ginger- 1 tsp
  • Sliced capsicum- ½ cup
  • Sliced onions- ½ cup
  • Soy sauce- 2 tsp
  • Chili sauce- 2 tsp
  • Vinegar- 1 tsp
  • Tomato ketchup- 2 tsp
  • Pepper powder- 1 tsp
  • Oil to fry
  • Salt to taste
  • Sesame seeds to garnish

  • Soak the chickpeas in enough water overnight or for 7-8 hours.
  • Drain the water and cook the chickpeas with a pinch of backing soda and salt in a pressure cooker
  • Now let the chickpeas cool and then add the corn flour to them and mix well so that corn flour makes a nice layer on the peas and deep fry them till golden brown and little crispy
  • Heat the oil in a non-stick pan and add the garlic, ginger and saute them for 1 minute
  • Add the capsicum and onion and again saute for another 1-2 minute
  • Add soya sauce, chili sauce, tomato sauce, vinegar, pepper powder, salt and mix well
  •  Let cook for few minutes
