Gulabjamun
If you are an Indian- you sure know what a delight Gulabjamun is! It is one of the most loved sweet and an integral part of Indian festivity. Home made Gulabjamun is a nice treat for any occasion.
It is a sweet consisting of a ball of deep-fried milk-solids dumplings soaked in a rose scented sugar syrup.
Whether you serve them as a dessert
at parties or simply want to indulge yourself, this traditional Indian sweet
is the one for you and it will never disappoint your taste buds!
Ingredients
For Sugar Syrup
- 2 cups Sugar
- 1cup Water
- 1 tsp Cardamom powder
- 1 tsp Rose Water
For Dough
- 1cup Khoya ( dried milk)
- ¼ cup Wheat Flour
- ¼ tsp Baking soda
- Raisins
- Almonds for garnishing
- Ghee (clarified butter)for Frying
Method
- Take a pan and add sugar and water to it heat it on medium flame
- Let it gently bring to a boil and continue to stir occasionally add cardamom powder and rose water turn off the flame and Let the sugar syrup thicken slightly
- Take khoya in a mixing bowl, Mix in the flour and baking soda and knead into firm dough, keep aside for 5-10 mins
- Make equal sized balls and put 1-2 raisins in side it and roll between slightly greased palms till smooth
- Now heat ghee in a pan and deep fry the balls in low flame till they turn brown evenly
- Add all gulabjamun to the already prepared sugar syrup and let them soak in the syrup for 1-2 hour
- Garnish them with chopped almonds
