Chili Paneer (Cottage Cheese)
Looking for some quick, easy and something out of 'daily routine' recipe? Tasty Chilli Paneer is one option! Chilli paneer is Indian Chinese cuisine and a delicious starter loved by everyone; one of favorite options when you dine out and interestingly it is very easy. I tried hands on it at home and this is a tasty surprise! It can be served with rice or noodles. Great for paneer lovers.
Ingredients
To Marinade
- Cubed Paneer (Cottage Cheese) - 200 gm
- Ginger-Garlic Paste 1 Tbsp
- Salt ½ tsp
- Black pepper ½ tsp
For Batter and Frying Paneer
- Corn Starch ¼ cup
- All-purpose flour ½ cup
- Oil 2 tsp.
- Salt per taste
- Oil to deep fry paneer
To Make Sauce
- Green chili Chopped 1
- Chopped Ginger 1 tsp.
- Chopped Garlic 1 tsp.
- Green Capsicum Chopped - 1
- Onion Chopped - 1
- Corn Starch 1/2 tsp.
- Soya sauce -1-2 tsp.
- Chili sauce 1-2 tsp.
- Tomato sauce- 1-2 tsp.
- Vinegar 1 tsp.
- Black Pepper powder 1-2 tsp.
- Salt as per taste
Method
- Marinade paneer with ginger- garlic paste, salt and black pepper and keep in refrigerator for 1 hour
- To make batter mix the corn flour and all-purpose flour, oil, salt and mix it very well with your hand and then add water and mix thoroughly, it should be thick enough to coat paneer
- Now heat oil in a pan and dip paneer in batter and fry till golden brown keep them aside
- To make sauce add oil in a pan in high flame and add chopped ginger, garlic and green chilies and let them fry
- Add chopped capsicum and onion and sauté for 3-4 minutes
- Now to make sauce thickener take ¼ cup water and mix ½ tsp. corn flour and mix it well, add this to sauce.
- Now add tomato sauce, soy sauce, chili sauce, vinegar, salt, black pepper and let them cook
- Add the fried paneer cubes and coat it in the sauces and cook it for 4-5 minutes
- Serve it hot!
