Namak Pare is a wonderful snack that is appropriate for any party, any festival, or as a favorite tea snack with hot tea or you can enjoy them with your family anytime of the day. Namak pare are very crispy and crunchy and are easy to make and need very few ingredients.  






Ingredients


  •     2 cups all-purpose flour (maida)
  •     Salt to taste
  •     4 tbsp oil
  •     Oil for deep frying


Method


  • Take a bowl and mix the flour, salt, oil together
  • Knead the dough by adding little water at a time; dough should not be very soft like chapatti and also   not very tight
  • Cover it with a cloth and keep aside for 15 minutes.
  • Take the dough and knead it again for few minutes
  • Divide the dough into equal round balls
  • Now take one round ball and roll it into a circle like chapatti
  • Cut in desired shape
  • Heat oil in a pan or kadhai and when it is hot, drop the pieces in oil to deep fry them until light golden brown color
  • Drain them in a tissue paper to remove extra oil. Serve them hot and to store them cool down completely and store in a airtight container.

Materials Required


  • Black velvet paper
  • 2 Cardboard tubes (Bigger for top, Smaller for base)
  • Cardboard
  • Glue
  • Scissors

Steps


  • Take the bigger cardboard tube and make a hole in the center of the tube so that you can set the base of the holder properly
  • Stuff the tube with some rough paper to make it heavier
  • Now cover the tubes with velvet paper
  • Attach the smaller tube to the big one as in the picture; it will look like a T-shaped bar
  • Now cut the cardboard in whatever size and shape you want to make the base stand. Cover it with velvet paper.
  • Now attach the T-shaped bar to the base stand, let it dry

Your beautiful bracelet holder/ jewelry stand is now ready to display. Bring your bracelets and place it on the holder. After trying this idea you will fell more organized and creative.

Recipe - Mango Lassi

Mango Lassi

Mangoes are widely used in cuisine. Mango lassi is gaining popularity worldwide. It is widely available in restaurants and is liked as flavored yogurt in UK, Malaysia and Singapore, and in many other parts of the world. Mango lassi is a very tasty and refreshing drink prepared by mixing ripe mangoes or mango pulp with yoghurt and sugar. Yogurt/curd/Dahi is nutritionally rich in protein, calcium, riboflavin, vitamin B6 and vitamin B12 and it has nutritional benefits beyond those of milk.


Ingredients


  • 1 Big Ripe Mango peeled and cubed        
  • 1 Cup Yoghurt/Curd/Dahi
  • Cardamom seeds (Elaichi)
  • 3-4 Tablespoon Sugar
  • Chopped Almonds for Garnishing

Method


  • Put all of the ingredients into a blender and blend until smooth
  • Adjust the consistency as you want
  • If you like it chilled you can chill it in the fridge or add some ice cubes
  • Pour in glasses and decorate with some chopped almonds
  • Sprinkle a little cardamom

Mango lassi is ready to be served.

Recipe- Samosa



Samosa- Popular Indian Snack

If you are a north Indian, you must have had Samosas. Synonymous to a staple food all over India, this remains one of the most favorite and most eaten item in India, from small food joints to big restaurants you will find these everywhere. Samosas are a popular appetizer or snack in Delhi, Punjab, Himachal Pradesh, Madhya Pradesh, Uttarakhand and other Northern States of India. I am giving a step by step method so that you can have it at convenience of your home.


Ingredients
For Filling
  • 2 cups boiled and roughly mashed potatoes (aloo)
  • 1/4 tsp cumin seeds (jeera)
  • 1/2 tsp mustard seeds (Rai)
  • 1/4 tsp turmeric powder (haldi)
  • 1/2 tsp red chili powder (lal mirch)
  • 1/2 tsp dry mango powder (amchur)
  • 1/4 tsp garam masala powder
  • 1 tsp coriander seeds (khade dhane)
  • 4-5 curry leaves (mithi neem)
  • Some green peas (hari matar)
  • Some Peanuts (moongfali)
  • 2 green chilis (hari mirchi) finely chopped
  • Fresh coriander leaves (hara Dhania) to garnish
  • Salt to taste
  • 2 tbsp oil
For Covering
  • 2 cups all-purpose flour (maida)
  • Salt to taste
  • 4 tbsp oil
  • Oil for deep frying

Method
For Covering
  • Take a bowl and mix the flour, salt, oil together
  • Knead the dough by adding little water at a time; dough should not be very soft like chapatti and also not very tight
  • Cover it with a cloth and keep aside
For Filling
  • Heat oil in a frying pan or kadhai and add the mustard seed, cumin seeds and let them fry
  • Add green peas, peanuts, green chilis, curry leaves and let them fry for 2 minutes
  • Now add all the spices and sauté for a few more minutes then add the mashed potatoes and sauté for a couple of minutes
  • Add coriander leaves and turn off the heat and allow the potato mixture cool down

Samosa Making

  • Take the dough and knead it again for few minutes
  • Divide the dough into equal round balls. Each round ball will make 2 samosas
  • Now take one ball and roll out in it in an oval shape as in picture.
  • Cut it in half and pick one of them and apply a little water to the border of it and make a shape like cone as in the picture and seal the bottom end and sides very well.

  • Fill the potato mixture in as in picture and seal the top with a little water and give it shape like samosa
  • Do the same for all rest samosas
  • Heat oil in a pan or kadhai and deep fry samosas in low heat until golden brown to make them crispy
  • Samosas are ready now, serve them with yoghurt/dahi, mint chutney, tomato sauce.
