Namak pare (savory
snacks)
Namak Pare is a wonderful snack
that is appropriate for any party, any festival, or as a favorite tea snack with hot tea or you can enjoy
them with your family anytime of the day. Namak pare are very crispy and
crunchy and are easy to make and need very few ingredients.
Ingredients
- 2 cups all-purpose flour (maida)
- Salt to taste
- 4 tbsp oil
- Oil for deep frying
Method
- Take a bowl and mix the flour, salt, oil together
- Knead the dough by adding little water at a time; dough should not be very soft like chapatti and also not very tight
- Cover it with a cloth and keep aside for 15 minutes.
- Take the dough and knead it again for few minutes
- Divide the dough into equal round balls
- Now take one round ball and roll it into a circle like chapatti
- Cut in desired shape
- Heat oil in a pan or kadhai and when it is hot, drop the pieces in oil to deep fry them until light golden brown color
- Drain them in a tissue paper to remove extra oil. Serve them hot and to store them cool down completely and store in a airtight container.
